I sold a pair of sunglasses through an online buy/sell site and now the person wants a refund. The site has no seller rating and they take no responsibility for bad sales. The thing is that I took a clear photo and I thought they were in great condition apart from 2 scratches that I pointed out. I also pointed out some minor scuffing. The thing is that they were a designer set of glasses that my friend gave me and very expensive new. I explained all this on the site but that I did not have the certification certificate, which I also pointed out. The glasses were sold for $20 plus $5 for the postage (being $350 new). When the buyer received them she was angry and now wants a refund claiming they are more scuffed and that they are not original and nearly broke. What should I do?
It would be ethical to give her a refund. Treat people the way you would want to be treated.
Only you know if you misrepresented the condition of the glasses. The truth is probably someplace in between – you wouldn’t sell $350.00 glasses for $20.00 if they were not in pretty bad shape.
Sorry, I say give them the refund, its really the right thing to do, I dislike people who use the law to their benefit just to make a few bucks because the other person doesn’t have much recourse if any. Beware if they live out of state, they may actually have more recourse than you think. Send a refund and live with a clean conscience, its a hard lesson, losing the shipping but I think its what you should do.

Don’t buy her a Coach bag, even though Coach is considered “high quality” it reminds me of a bad impersonation of Louis Vuitton. Plus, Coach bags are outdated and look really boring and dull.
My advice is to go to Saks, Nordstrom’s, or Neiman Marcus and look for bags on sale. You might find a really nice bag at a great price
